Chris Lal Bio

Chris Lal is chief legal officer of Alteryx, responsible for all legal affairs, including intellectual property, licensing, contract negotiations, privacy, compliance, and corporate governance. Chris has over 20 years of experience as a corporate, transactions, and securities attorney representing both public and private companies in various phases of development and growth.

Before joining Alteryx, Chris was vice president, general counsel and secretary of Tilly’s, Inc., an NYSE-traded retail and ecommerce company, where he oversaw legal affairs related to SEC and NYSE compliance, intellectual property, Federal Trade Commission matters, e-commerce, and labor and employment. He managed complex litigation and was interim head of human resources. Before Tilly’s, Chris served as general counsel at Thompson National Properties and Sunstone Hotel Investors, helping these companies through various stages of growth and corporate change.

Chris began his career at O’Melveny & Myers, LLP, as a member of the corporate and securities practice, where he advised clients on public securities offerings and private placements, corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Chris holds a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a J.D. from the University of Southern California.
